What I do now

I run Roryco, a fractional product leadership practice. Teams bring me in three ways: as an advisor for a few hours a month, as a consultant working inside the team on a roadmap, an AI integration, or a prototype, or as an embedded fractional product leader who owns the roadmap, the team, and the stakeholders without a full-time hire.

Most of my current work involves AI, and I still build. With today’s AI-assisted development tools I ship working prototypes myself in weeks, so a strategy recommendation comes with something you can click.

Recent client work: display ad revenue doubled in the first month for SoundStack’s Live365 network, a voice and avatar AI prototype built in two weeks that became the center of When I Go, and a Transcend consent management rollout across TextNow’s web, iOS, and Android properties.

How I work

  • Prototype and strategy together. The prototype answers whether we can build it. A short strategy document answers whether we should, and keeps everyone building the same thing. I run both.
  • Inside the team. I work alongside engineers, designers, and founders in the day-to-day, with full ownership of outcomes when the engagement calls for it.
  • Numbers first. Every engagement starts with a baseline and reports against it, whether that is ad revenue by placement or consent rates by platform.

Outside work

I live in the Outer Sunset in San Francisco. When I’m not working with clients I’m surfing Ocean Beach, gardening, skiing, or building things with my daughter.
